Our lab-grade pregnancy tests detect the hCG hormone as early as 7 days after conception (or about 21–24 days after the first day of your last period). Each test is read by a medical professional who will explain the results and answer your questions.

Free Limited Ultrasounds Performed by Nurses
If your pregnancy test is positive, you may be eligible for a free limited ultrasound. An ultrasound uses sound waves to give you important information about your pregnancy, such as:
Whether the pregnancy is in the uterus
If there is a detectable heartbeat
How far along you are
Knowing these details early can help you better understand your options and make informed decisions.
Professional Care in a Safe, Supportive Environment
Ultrasounds at PSS are provided by our licensed Registered Nurses who have completed comprehensive sonography training in limited obstetric ultrasounds. You are welcome to bring a partner or support person with you to an ultrasound appointment and your scan will be available to you digitally through the client portal on our website.

What to Expect at Your First Appointment
Every step is confidential, compassionate, and centered on your comfort. We are a nonprofit organization, and all of these services are offered at no cost to you. Here is what to expect on your first visit:
Warm Welcome
You’ll be greeted, offered a snack or drink, and given a comfortable space to settle in and fill out some basic paperwork. You’ll provide a urine sample so we can provide a medical-grade pregnancy test.
Private Conversation
You’ll meet with a client advocate who listens without judgment. Together, you’ll talk through your questions, needs, and the resources available to you.
Medical Care
You’ll receive a free medical-grade pregnancy test, and if eligible, an ultrasound from a trained nurse — so you can leave with clarity and confidence.
Ongoing Support
If you’d like, we’ll stay connected with you after your appointment through classes, baby showers, resources, and check-ins. Sometimes that means practical help like maternity clothes or healthcare connections; other times it’s simply being there to celebrate milestones; or support you through tough moments. Whether you want ongoing care or just this one visit, you’re always welcome.
